Artillery Gunner – 0811
Part of a key section that won the coveted “Top Gun” award in 2002, being named the best artillery unit in the entire Marine Corps. Served as a cannoneer instructor and assistant chief of section (kept records for and maintained approx. $1.5 million of government property [M198 howitzer]). Heavy weapon crew chief [M2 .50 cal & MK19 grenade launcher]. Chosen as key personnel for nuclear, biological and chemical protection team. Served as an MP for seven months. Deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom from Jan 2003 – Jun 2003 including the battle of An Nasiriyah. Recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation award.
